From the project sidebar in the Standards app, select AI to open the AI settings page.
Add standards.md
On the standards.md card, click Add, then click Generate to create your file. Your project must be published before generating.
Copy the link or download the file
Once generated, you can copy the share link or download the file directly. Use whichever method your AI tool supports.
How it works
When you enable standards.md, Standards uses AI to analyze your published guidelines and produce a structured file purpose-built for AI consumption. Each page is classified by type — color, typography, logo, voice, and more — and processed with specialized extraction tailored to that category. Color pages produce precise palette tables with HEX, RGB, CMYK, and Pantone values. Typography pages output font hierarchy tables with families, weights, and sizes. Voice and tone pages are converted into actionable directives. A quick reference section synthesizes the most important brand rules across all pages, giving AI tools immediate access to your core guidelines without reading the full document.
The file also includes direct links to individual pages — both the published site and AI-optimized endpoints — so tools can drill into specific topics when they need more detail.
Keeping it up to date
Your standards.md file is automatically regenerated every time you publish. If you’re using the share link, AI tools will always fetch the latest version. If you downloaded the file, re-download it after publishing to get updates.
Security
The standards.md share link includes a unique token. Anyone with the link can access the file. You can reset the token at any time from the AI settings page — this will invalidate the previous link.
